I’ll admit it, I needed a break. The 2025 draft season burned me out. I didn’t even get as many drafts in as I wanted before my work trip to Germany crept up on the calendar. (“FRAUD!” the critics shout.) Producing and hosting two episodes of Stacking Dingers and streaming once a week on The Sheep Seats was a lot, and overall, the viewership of the division previews declined from earlier content. Not sure if that wasn’t what the audience wanted, but the numbers you didn’t. Or maybe the shit show that is Twitter and the YouTube algos have conspired against us. I don’t know. (Any free content strategy consultants reading this, reach out!) Regardless, I’m incredibly proud of what we created this season, and I need to shout out Billy for joining this year and being a great co-host as well as working behind the scenes. Hope to see screenshots from all of you as we roll into the playoffs.
Writing this on Father’s Day has me reflecting on the last few months. I’ve traded a bunch of the time I used to spend playing and sweating daily slates on Underdog and DraftKings with family activities. This season, baseball has been more about cheering my son on at his Little League games and enjoying the radio broadcasts on the patio. (RIP Uecker). I’m proud of my son and the work he’s put in to get better this year. He’d be embarrassed by how many times I’ve relived the fly ball he caught in center field in my head since last Thursday. Those games are the highlight of my week.
That’s it, that’s the fundamental reason I started to make these videos. I want to share the love of baseball and best ball with like-minded people. The numbers don’t matter as long as a few of you are still out there enjoying it, too.
With the rambling complete, I am also sharing a new episode. Aidan Hall, proprietor of Sweating Dingers, joined me to walk through this amazing site full of data on The Dinger and Underdog scoring. It’s an absolute must visit if you haven’t already. We talked about advance rates, structures, and players working so far in the 2025 MLB season. Check it out!
Fantastic episode.
Thanks for all the hard work and great content, it's appreciated!
